Two-Time Hall of Famer to Lead Junior Academy

APRIL 14, 2020 - A stand-out teaching professional is headed to Edmond, Oklahoma. Kickingbird would like to announce the hiring of Aaron Marchetti, USPTA. Aaron comes to us from Kansas City where he ran his own academy, Marchetti Tennis Academy. "I could not be anymore excited to have Aaron and his family join our team. I had the opportunity to coach with Aaron at the USTA Regional Training Center about 8 years ago. Not only was he an accomplished player but he is considered one of the top coaches in the country. He will be bringing in new and exciting changes to our junior program that will bring our academy to another level." States Director of Tennis David Minihan. Aaron's title will be Director of Player Development and Coaching. "After 15 years in Kansas City we feel very blessed to be moving to such a nice town and a wonderful brand new world class training center. I am so excited to hit the courts, meet new people and work alongside a great staff," Aaron Marchetti.

Aaron Marchetti was a NCAA All-American in 1999 while playing for Virginia Tech University. While there he reached as high as #2 in the country in singles and #9 in doubles. He is a member of two Hall of Fames, the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame and the Ohio Valley Sports Hall of Fame. Aaron achieved an ATP ranking in both singles and doubles and was a member of the USTA Rookie Professional Team training with the best coaches and players int he country. He holds three USTA National Championship Gold Balls and in the past 15 years has been instrumental in developing multiple State and National Champions and has developed countless NCAA Division 1 players in the Kansas City area. Aaron and his wife Amber have three wonderful kids, Ava (14), Andrew (13) and Amelia (10).
